Passion Project: Handmade Candles for a Cause

July 26, 2016 Wes Phelan

Check out our new work for Row Candles — a candle company started by a young man with a big heart. Founder, CEO and Chief Candlemaker, Christopher Row, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the young age of 10 years old and, with his entrepreneurial spirit, decided to start Row Candles, a business that would make a difference. Christopher hand-makes soy candles using the finest materials, in scents including Lilac, Spruce, Lavender and Citrus. He sells them for just $10 and donates a portion of each sale to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We thought that was a bright idea!

We had the pleasure of mentoring Christopher and working with him on the development of his brand. He presented his business concept and products to the B+C creative team and together we developed a name, positioning line, logo, business card, packaging and a web site he is quite proud of. Christopher is a savvy young businessman and we very much enjoyed working with him and guiding him through the creative process.

If you want to support a great kid with a noble cause, visit RowCandles.com. His candles make great gifts and will light up any home or office. Order yours now.

Paying our Respects

July 12, 2016 Wes Phelan

This past week has been a painful one for our city. We were deeply moved when we visited the memorial at Dallas Police Headquarters to pay our respects to the fallen officers. Two squad cars parked outside were blanketed in the city’s appreciation and were hidden beneath layers of flowers, balloons, candles, stuffed animals and handwritten posters and notes. It’s heartwarming to see such tremendous support from the community. We at B+C want to thank Mayor Rawlings, Chief Brown and the Dallas Police Department for their service and appreciate everything they do for the great City of Dallas - a place we are proud to call home.

Fresh Work: Stephan Pyles Flora Street Cafe

June 21, 2016 Wes Phelan

The Banowetz Design Team just finished up some wonderful branding and collateral pieces for the latest restaurant concept by celebrity chef, Stephan Pyles. Planted in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, Stephan Pyles Flora Street Cafe is situated in the HALL Arts building across the street from the Meyerson Symphony Center and the AT&T Performing Arts Center. The restaurant opened to rave reviews and offers “elevated Texas cuisine” in an open-kitchen concept. The smart, simple and sophisticated branding goes nicely with the elegant design of the restaurant interior, while the menus embrace the art-centric location, featuring fun quips and quotes by well-known artists. Just to whet your appetite until you get your reservation at this new Dallas hot spot, here’s a taste of the work we created.
