Family. Business.: Randy (RJ) Banowetz and Dance the Night Away Productions

December 2, 2015 Wes Phelan

When you happen to be one of fifteen kids, you end up with siblings in a wide range of industries. Thus it is with our agency leader, Leon Banowetz, and his family. And being the design and advertising guru in the mix, Leon is quick to lend his creative expertise to the other “Team Banowetz” when it comes to branding their endeavors.

Recently, Leon’s younger brother, Randy, was in need of a logo and business cards for his DJ business, Dance the Night Away Productions. Randy’s happy with how we put a spin on his new business, and we hope it helps him land a lot of gigs. Check out the final logo and cards below.

Fall Fashion and Fiftieth Salute: NorthPark’s never looked so good

November 10, 2015 Wes Phelan

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock in Dallas (or not reading our blog!), you’ve likely heard that our client, NorthPark Center, is celebrating their fiftieth anniversary this fall. As one of the many projects that we’ve helped to execute as part of this monumental milestone, we’ve recently wrapped up the fall campaign book. All of the images in this perfect-bound piece were shot at the stunning Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. Not only are the masterworks housed by the museum exquisite, but the architecture that houses them is as well. The combination of this spectacular location and the striking designer looks for fall resulted in a finished piece that is rich with captivating images.

The book was mailed to over 70,000 homes in the DFW area, and can also be found throughout the shopping center for patrons to enjoy. If you haven’t gotten your hands on one yet, we suggest grabbing one for your coffee table the next time you’re at NorthPark. But don’t wait too long — they are flying off the stands. In the meantime, here are a few pages from the finished piece for you to enjoy.

Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015: An exhibit not to be missed

October 27, 2015 Wes Phelan

It is no secret that NorthPark Center is the go-to place for the best selection of fashion retailers in Dallas. NorthPark is also known for making world-class works of art available to the public, which are exhibited throughout the shopping center. So, to commemorate NorthPark’s 50th anniversary, a new exhibition, Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015, was recently unveiled on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

Curated by Texas Fashion Collection Director Myra Walker, this celebratory exhibition features specific examples of dress over the past fifty years from 1965 to the present, illustrating the synergistic relationship between the world of art and what shows up on the runway. Drawn primarily from the Texas Fashion Collection at UNT, twenty-nine looks are on display alongside two series of prints by Andy Warhol that inspired two of the pieces within the exhibition.

Banowetz + Company produced a perfect-bound book that walks viewers through the various fashion statements with insights into the designers’ inspiration, as well as some back story on the designers themselves. The brochure can be picked up from the NorthPark Center Concierge desk or the NorthPark Management Office. On-site signage was also produced for the exhibition.

Here are a couple of our favorite looks. But don’t miss the actual exhibit, which will be up just through the remainder of 2015.
